Orb
Genre: Action/Adventure
Platform: Nintendo Wii
Storyline
The storyline in Orb finds players following the adventure of three students (Dyces, Simique, and Mahten) searching for their abducted teacher (Strysis). They find themselves travelling the world, across many different climates uncovering the secrets and past of their land, Delphire. That past includes genocide, war, revenge, and a bit of romance at times.
Excerpts from the Journal of Imanti Guardian Strysis:
6/37/532
"It has been over 500 years since the last great war. Over 500 years since the mysterious Kulon appeared on the battleground with the Tengai warriors. Over 500 years since the Inam decimated the Tengai and ended their reign. Over 500 years since our tribe was founded. We thought the Kulon were dead, or that they had long forgotten about our quiet realm. It would seem, we were wrong."

"I told my pupils earlier today about the Kulon attacks on the Temple at Mt. Sium. A few of them have expressed great fear at what may soon come to pass, and it seems many will be leaving my charge soon. That is their choice, but a few have no place to go, my 'young brother' Mahten being one of them. It is those few I am most worried about. However, the High Council still sees fit to send me new students... I'm not sure what they want me to do."

"Jin, my youngest pupil, arrived at the temple today. He has aspirations to learn the kusarigama it seems, but he's going to have to work up to it and train with each weapon in turn. He might not like that too much, but if he tries to use the advanced weapons first, he's going to kill himself."

"It was a hard day today, I watched a sparring match between Dyces and Simique, those two are getting better, and I sense something between them. I then sparred with Mahten, he's showing promise in his young age. I only hope they are ready, as reports of Kulon and bandits in the area have been sporadic, but more frequent."
Orb begins on the first day of the seventh month of the 532nd year of the Tunom calander. The player has the choice of playing as Dyces, Simique, or Mahten. Depending on who they choose changes small parts of the storyline at the begining, and offers very different gameplay as the story unfolds.
Gameplay
Orb is an action/adventure title that plays simlar to Legend of Zelda with touches of Myst and Elder Scrolls 4. The player explores the land of Delphire, fighting through dungeons, exploring towns and ruins, meeting new cultures, and delving into the history of the world and the universe. The game is a third person game, and allows for in depth interaction with the environment and characters. Player will be able to choose a school of magic*, learn it fully, craft their own weapons as they gain the skills, and even raise creatures.
*Information on the magic system will be unveiled at a later date, as well as uses for the Wii controller.
Locations
Messan:
This is the first location in the game. It is a simple town surrounded by mountain forests and meadows. It is in the temple near this town that Strysis and his pupils live. The town itself has no enemies for the player to fight (aside from a couple sidequests), however, it has a sizeable population that the player can interact with. Each character has a back story, and interacts with the player (or even play with them, as a group of kids play a game with Mahten). As the player continues the storyline, night falls, and Strysis will be kidnapped.
Nocanna:
Nocanna is the second major location in Orb, and is the holy city of the Tunom as well as the home of it's high council. It is one of the largest locations in Orb, and has many shops, homes, parks, temples, and hidden areas for players to explore.
There will be more locations posted eventually, we just want to give readers a taste.
Puzzles
Orb features many dungeons, some that are integral to the storyline, some that aren't. However, one of the most common questions we get at CSE is, what type of puzzles are in Orb?
We are not going to have push/pull crate puzzles. We are not going to have "use the fire spell to melt the ice door"
style puzzles. We are going to have puzzles that will require players to work towards a common goal (activating a power source for a ruin) or other such objectives.
Extras
Extra chapters, locations, ruins, and such are planned for players to download in order to expand the storyline and uncover new lands. These downloads are planned to be available via WiiConnect24.
Also, when certain conditions in the game are met, players will be able to share their customized weapons and contact other parallel universes.
